Terms of Service
Effective October 29, 2026
These are the rules for using StreetDrill. The part that matters most is section 3: StreetDrill is a study aid, not a dispatch or navigation tool, so your department's maps, CAD and SOGs come first, and never use it while driving.
1. Agreement and who we are
These terms are an agreement between you and Hantis USA, LLC ("we", "us"), the company that makes StreetDrill. They cover the StreetDrill app for iPhone, including test builds, and streetdrill.app.
By signing in to or using StreetDrill, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use StreetDrill.
2. What StreetDrill does
StreetDrill is a study app. Its games teach the streets, addresses, fire station districts and target hazards of Richardson, Texas, using public map data that ships inside the app and works offline. Routes in the games come from a model of the street network built for study.
StreetDrill does not dispatch calls, give live turn-by-turn directions, know about closures or traffic, or tell you how to respond to an incident.
3. A study aid, not a dispatch tool: please read this
StreetDrill is not a City or fire department app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for the City of Richardson, Richardson Fire Department or any other agency. The data sources page lists where its map data comes from.
That data and the routes built from it can be wrong, incomplete or out of date:
- Streets and addresses change, and some newer streets and addresses aren't in the data yet. Fire hydrants aren't included.
- Routes are a study model. They don't know about closures, construction, traffic, apparatus limits or your department's preferred routes.
- Station details, districts and target hazards are compiled from public sources and may not match your department's current information.
So please:
- Use StreetDrill to study, not to respond. On a call, use your department's maps, CAD and MDT, dispatch, and your officer's direction.
- Never use StreetDrill while driving, on duty or off. Pull over first, and follow the law and your department's rules on phone use.
- Follow your department's SOGs, and check routes and facts against official sources before relying on them, including for a promotional exam.
4. Tester access
- While StreetDrill is in testing, you use it with a Tester ID and access code we give you. They're for you alone: don't share them or publish them.
- Test builds can change, break, lose progress or stop working, and we may end testing or your access at any time.
- You must be at least 13 years old to use StreetDrill. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.
- Ratings, notes, reports and ideas you send us help us improve StreetDrill. We may use them without owing you anything.
5. Price
StreetDrill is free while it's in testing. If we offer paid plans later, we'll show the price and what's included before you buy. You'd buy them through the App Store, and Apple's billing, renewal, cancellation and refund rules apply. Nothing is charged unless you choose to buy.
6. Using StreetDrill fairly
You agree not to:
- Break the law, or use StreetDrill to harm anyone.
- Copy, extract or resell StreetDrill's data, questions or content, or build a competing product from them.
- Reverse engineer the app or its access codes, except where the law allows it despite this term.
- Share test builds, access codes or unreleased features with people we haven't invited.
- Present StreetDrill, or anything it shows, as official City or fire department material.
Found a security problem? Please tell us at support@streetdrill.app.
7. Map data and other companies
StreetDrill relies on others to work:
- Map data comes from City of Richardson open data and from OpenStreetMap contributors, under each source's own terms. We don't control it. See the data sources page.
- The app is delivered through Apple's TestFlight and App Store, and app updates through Expo. Testers may also run it inside Expo's Expo Go app.
When you use these, those companies' own terms can apply too. We aren't responsible for their services.
8. Our app and name
The StreetDrill app, website, name, logo, games and design belong to Hantis USA, LLC. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own study, under these terms. City and fire department names appear only to describe the area StreetDrill covers.
9. No guarantees
To the fullest extent the law allows, StreetDrill is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise that its map data, routes, questions or answers are accurate, complete or current, that it will prepare you for any exam, or that it will always be available or free of errors. We also make no other warranties, including that it is fit for a particular purpose. Some places don't allow these exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Hantis USA, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising from StreetDrill. That includes a wrong or slow route, a delayed response, a result on an exam or promotional process, or data that was missing, wrong or out of date.
Our total liability for any claim about StreetDrill is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$50.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited, such as for our fraud or, where the law says so, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
11. If you misuse StreetDrill
If someone makes a claim against us because you broke these terms or the law while using StreetDrill, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it, including legal fees. This doesn't apply to the extent we caused the problem.
12. Ending
You can stop using StreetDrill at any time. Deleting the app removes everything it saved on your phone; the privacy policy explains how to delete anything you sent us.
We may end your access if you break these terms, and we may end testing or stop offering StreetDrill. If we stop offering it, we'll tell testers first when we can.
13. Changes
StreetDrill will change over time. We may add, change or remove games and features, and update its map data.
If we change these terms, we'll update the effective date. For changes that matter, we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using StreetDrill after that, the new terms apply.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
Before going to court, please email support@streetdrill.app so we can try to sort it out; most problems can be solved that way. Any court case goes to the state or federal courts in Texas, except that either of us may use small-claims court where you live.
If you're a consumer outside the United States, you keep any rights your local law gives you that can't be waived.
15. Apple's App Store and TestFlight
- These terms are between you and Hantis USA, LLC, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for StreetDrill, its content, maintenance or support.
- If the app fails to meet a warranty that applies, you can tell Apple, and Apple may refund the price you paid for it, if any. Apple has no other warranty duty for the app.
- Apple isn't responsible for handling claims about the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection, or claims that it infringes someone's intellectual property. We are, as these terms describe.
- You confirm you aren't in a country under a US government embargo or on a US list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

If a part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term right away doesn't mean we've given it up. These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement about StreetDrill.
